I submit, in solidarity, my activities report as NEVP for the period of May 2019 to October 2019.
I will never tire to say how extremely proud I am to represent our members in both official languages across the country and also to work closely with the National President, our RVPs and the EOC.
The Phoenix pay system is an unprecedented fiasco. I had my grievance hearing on Phoenix grievances last July 16th with the ADM. With the members’ consent I submitted the synopsis of each Phoenix case to the Pay Transformation Centre and to the PSAC contacts for Phoenix for urgent and rapid action even before the grievance hearing. I am very touched by everything our members are going through because of Phoenix and I am doing my best to find a solution to these issues. Is the result always to the satisfaction of the member and mine? Unfortunately, not always.
I sit on the NBoD Phoenix Ad Hoc Committee which met on June 19th and September 9th. I will be able to share with the NEO some of the discussions from these meetings.
I work with RVPs by providing advice and guidance for each of their regions. I had to intervene several times in various cases in certain regions.
I marched with the PSAC parade at the Labour Day Walk in Ottawa.
On September 16, I attended the UVAE Structure Review Committee meeting by teleconference. The UVAE Finance Committee met in person in Ottawa from September 23 to 28th. We had very good and constructive discussions when preparing the 2021-2023 UVAE budget.
I walked with the PSAC in the World Climate Strike on September 27th on the streets in Ottawa. This unprecedented mobilization brought together thousands of people in Ottawa and hundreds of thousands of people across the country.
I certainly omitted some information because I cannot give the details of my daily actions, otherwise my report would be several dozen pages long. However, I can assure you that I defend members across the country with passion and dedication. I will continue to work with the National President, the RVPs and the EOC. I am at your disposal to answer all your questions in person.
